Named for a hero of the Revolutionary War, Count Kazimierz Pulaski, Pulaski County is located near the center of Georgia. The county was officially created by the Georgia General Assembly on December 13, 1808. The capital of the Creek Nation of Native Americans was once located in Pulaski County. The county has both a strong school system and a strong healthcare system. The current population of Pulaski County is 11,483, including a veteran population of 932. The Boat Landing features large picnic areas, a pavilion, and a boat ramp.
One of the excellent community events held in Pulaski County is the Annual Harness Festival. The festival features many delicious food vendors and fun activities. There is a cook-off, Easter egg hunt, and even fireworks at the Harness Festival. Other community events include the Peaches to Beaches Yard Sale, Harvest Festival, and Hawkinsville Harvest Fest.
