Gilmer County is located in Northern Georgia and is named after American statesman and politician, George Rockingham Gilmer. The historic downtown area includes the Civil War Library and the Tabor House Historical Society Museum.
Gilmer County holds many fun and exciting annual events. The Apple Arts and the Apple Festival Parade is held each October, and feature games and plenty of great food. The county also has a 4th of July and St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The Christmas Parade, Light Up Ellijay, and Scarecrow Invasion are other fun festivals held in Gilmer County.
