Saline Springs is an interesting site to learn about the history of Gallatin County. Prehistoric settlers used Saline Springs as their main source of salt. The site now contains many prehistoric remains that bring many archeologists. Another historical site in Gallatin County is the John Marshall House Museum. Featuring early American architecture, the John Marshall House was once the home of Chief Justice of the United States, John Marshall. The original house was demolished, and the current house is a replica. Other historical locations in Gallatin County include the Crenshaw House, Duffy Site, and Camp Mather-Camp Logan.
