Other great places to enjoy the outdoors include Buffalo Grove, Jay Carlson Wildlife Area, and the Des Moines River.

The Boone County Fair brings out most of the community with its fun games, delicious food, and amazing arts and crafts. The Boone County Fair is also a great place see amazing live entertainment including musical acts, dancing, a car show, and more! Another great festival held in Boone County is Pufferbilly Days. Celebrating the county’s railroad history, Pufferbilly Days features a multitude of interesting railroad events and historical information. Other festivals held in the county include Ogden Fun Days and the Madrid Labor Day Festival.
