Created by the Idaho State Legislature in 1911, Bonneville County was named after an officer in the United States Army named Benjamin Bonneville. The county is located on the eastern edge of Idaho, and is home to several large forest areas. With a veteran population of 6,919 and a total population of 108,623, Bonneville County is the fourth most populated county in Idaho, and is the most populated county on the eastern edge.
