Spanish for “pretty view” Linda Vista is a neighborhood in San Diego situated north of Mission Valley and east of Mission Bay. Interestingly, Linda Vista was the site of the first American mall. The mall, which was built in 1942, was dedicated by Eleanor Roosevelt. Numerous homes in the neighborhood were built during the early 1940s, housing World War II aircraft workers.
