About Tallapoosa County
Tallapoosa County is home to the Horseshoe Bend National Military Park. This is a U.S. national military park. The area of the park is where part of the Creek War was fought in 1814.
The county, established in 1832, is located in the eastern part of the state.
Places to visit on the National Register of Historic Places include the Alexander City Commercial Historic District, the A.J. & Emma E. Thomas Coley House, the Dadeville Historic District, and the Reuben Herzfeld House.
There is a National Guard location in Tallahassee.
