Liberty County, Florida VA Home Loan Info

VA home loan limits2021 $0 down, VA home loan limit for Liberty County is $548,250.

Liberty County was founded in December of 1855. Named for the patriotic ideal of liberty, the county is one of only three dry counties in the entire state of Florida. By population and size, the county is smaller than the majority of the 67 counties in the state. The population is below 10,000 and is spread out over 843 square miles of area. The presence of the Nationally Protected Apalachicola National Forest, which accounts for half of the area of the county, gives the county a feeling of relative remoteness. The Apalachicola National Forest is known for its outdoor activities. Locals enjoy taking advantage of the swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding and ATV possibilities offered in the National Forest. Located along the Florida Panhandle, Liberty County only has one incorporated town: Bristol, which serves as the county seat. Nine unincorporated communities fall within the boundaries of Liberty County. The township of Bristol has less than 1,000 residents. Veterans Memorial Park is located in Bristol, adjacent to the county civic center. The most recognizable feature of the park is the presence of the narrow gauge Veterans Memorial Railroad. Liberty County briefly made national headlines when Elvy E Callaway presented what he thought was evidence that the Biblical Garden of Eden was located in the northern swath of Liberty County.
