The namesake of the 17th-century British royalty William Wentworth, Strafford is largely known for the cities of Dover, Rochester and Somersworth. With a total area of 369 square miles, Strafford County is the smallest county by area in New Hampshire. The population of the county is 123,000, with the majority of residents living in the county seat of Dover.
