The county is known for its many museums, great for educational fun! Officially established on February 27, 1837, Livingston was made from portions of McLean, LaSalle, and Iroquois Counties. Featuring a four-face clock tower, Fairbury City Hall was added to the National Register on February 16, 1996. Another interesting historical site in Livingston County is the Dwight Railroad Depot. Dwight Railroad Depot was built in 1891 and still serves as an Amtrak station. Other historic locations in the county include the Thomas A. Beach House, Pioneer Gothic Church, Livingston County Courthouse, and many more.
