Home to miles of scenic trails, the West End Nature Preserve is the perfect place to see some of the county’s amazing wildlife. The West End Nature Preserve also offers great views of Cypress Creek. Named “One of the Most Beautiful Lakes in Texas,” Lake Cypress Springs is a can’t miss for any nature-lover! Enjoy in the convenient fishing piers and boat ramps for a relaxing day of fishing. Lake Cypress Springs also feature several areas for picnics and camping.

You can’t miss out on any of the exciting events held in Franklin County throughout the year! The Mount Vernon Food and Wine Festival is a favorite of locals, featuring delicious dishes and some of the area’s best wines. The Mount Vernon Food and Wine Festival also features cooking demonstrations and children’s activities. Other great events held in the county include CountryFest and performances by Mount Vernon Music.
