Named for Civil War General Phillip Cook, Cook County was created on November 5, 1918. Cook County was the 153rd county created in Georgia. Cook County is made up of a total surface area of 233 square miles, 227 square miles of which is land and 6 square miles of which is water. The current population of Cook County is 17,214 including a veteran population of 1,147.
Reed Bingham State Park has several recreation facilities that are fun for people of all ages.
