Coffee County, Georgia was founded on February 9, 1854, by the Georgia General Assembly. Named for U.S. representative, General John E. Coffee, Coffee County was formed from portions of Clinch, Irwin, Telfair, and Ware counties. The current population of Coffee County is 42,811, including a veteran population of 2,488.
