Home partly to the famous Oregon Trail, Canyon County is located on the eastern edge of Idaho. The county was established on March 7, 1891, from portions of Ada, Payette, and Gem counties. If you love the outdoors, then there is no greater place to visit than Lake Lowell. Lake Lowell is a large lake with picturesque views. Fishing, boating, and swimming are activities frequently enjoyed at the Lake. Lake Lowell Park offers many amenities for a day outdoors with family and friends. The 20-acre park features a disc golf course, story tail, BBQ grills, and more! One of the many picnic areas is a great place to throw a family gathering.
The largest event held in Canyon County is the Canyon County Fair. The Fair is a three-day event that features great food, exciting entertainment, and fun games. The Canyon County Fair also has many great rides, perfect for people of all ages. Stage acts including hypnotists, magicians, and jugglers are featured at the Fair. There is also a junior rodeo, dance completion, and pie-backing contest!
